USHERS & GREETERS
“I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness” (Psalm 84:10).
Everyone likes to be welcomed when entering into an unfamiliar environment. The purpose of the Greeters and Ushers Ministry is to make individuals feel welcomed to the Metro Christ's Church. The purpose of the Greeters and Ushers Ministry is to make individuals feel welcomed to the Metro Christ's Church.
Greeters are members of the church who welcome guests and members at the doors of the sanctuary before every church activity. Greeters are ready with a smile, a firm handshake, and ready to answer any questions that a guest may have. By welcoming individuals and making them feel as if they truly are our guests, people feel as if someone does genuinely care.
Greeters then introduce our guests to ushers. Ushers are individuals whose primary purpose is to orderly guide guests and members into pews and maintain order in the service. Ushers are always ready to be of service when needs arise. Greeters and Ushers are individuals who have an opportunity to make a positive "first impression". This ministry is for individuals who love people and love to be of service.
Christ calls all church members into ministry. One way to minister to others is by being an usher. When a believer or non-believer comes to church, they should be greeted with the believers in Christ. That is, greet them with kindness, love and respect. People with gifts in hospitality, communication or encouragement may be good in this very important role.
